The Athens Track Official's association was founded in 1976 comprising of 5 original members. Rick Essex President, Roger Hosler Vice President, Larry Block Rules interpreter , Dave Jenkins Secretary/Treasurer, and Member Bert Devo. The Association has continued to grow and serve Southeast Ohio is now comprised of 34 members. The association began hosting the Best of the Southeast 7-8th Grade OHSAA State qualifying meet to provide a training/mentoring opportunity for new officials and to raise money for Scholarships for track athletes of the East and Southeast Districts.
The Athens Track Officials Association is gearing up for the upcoming cross country season! Whether you are a returning official or interested in becoming a new official, we would love to have you!
Our meetings provide an opportunity to review NFHS and OHSAA rules, discuss mechanics and expectation, prepare for the season, and connect with fellow officials.
We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces as we prepare for another great cross country season!
